Hi there.

Welcome to my blog.  I really hope you enjoy seeing my favourite things.

Clean, Moisurize, Repeat.

Good morning everyone!

It's a nice sunny day out today. Maybe we will take our little pup out for a nice run in behind our building for some family time. Yesterday was a hectic day of packing as much as we could with as much boxes we had. We are moving at the end of this month to a 3 bedroom condo home to give us more space with the new addition to the family.

Moving can be pretty hard especially when your in final stretch before the baby arrives, so I am doing as much as I can to help. And with moving comes stress. With stress comes skin problems, which goes hand in hand with the 2nd Trimester as well.

So this trimester update is: Skincare! Because my skin has done a complete change. I started to break out more than I did before. My face started to get red and splotchy. I found myself grabbing my concealer more and more to help hide these blemishes. I knew that with pregnancy comes skin changes and products I can no longer use because of the ingredients. So I set out to find a brand that other pregnant women sing praises about. And let me tell you, I will be joining those women.

Let's Dive In!

First we will begin with the most common skin problem that pregnant women get. Stretch Marks. To avoid getting them, since I found out I was pregnant I looked up a good moisturizer for my belly and found this wonderful product:

Kiehl's Nurturing Baby Cream For Face & Body (25$), Dr.Lipp Original Nipple Balm (12£)

Kiehl's Nurturing Baby Cream For Face & Body (25$), Dr.Lipp Original Nipple Balm (12£)

Here you can see the Kiehl's Nurturing Baby Cream for Face & Body, this has been my saviour. I currently have 0 stretch marks because I keep it well moisturized with this. I thought it was such a great investment since it's not only for mommy, but it can also be used to moisturize the baby. It is unscented which is also fantastic, and is a great deal for the size you get. On their site it is a little hidden, it can be found in Gifts, then Gifts for Baby. And when you go to Kiehl's shop like I did, just ask for the mommy & baby moisturizing cream. They will direct you to a whole section for you and the baby.

And as you see in the photo, the next product I sing praises for is for the ever so sensitive Nipples. With being pregnant and then eventually nursing, your breasts take a lot. And those sensitive nipples are the ones that take the brunt of it. So during the pregnancy you will find yours may get dry and crack, or one day you look down and notice there are weird scabs on them. (TMI i know but hey pregnancy can get TMI ) So to keep those puppies moisturized and not in pain, it is good to have something on hand specially designed for them. After with the baby they also can tear because of the little tyke's nursing, so another great reason to jump to a nipple balm. This one can be found at Anthropologie, or on Amazon. It even has it's own site as well. Now I know you are probably saying " Hey Becca! It also says Lips on the bottle?" and the answer is yes. The formula was originally made for nursing mothers, but someone had found out that it could also be used as a form of balm for the lips. So again multi-use. How can you go wrong. It only comes in one size, and you don't need much. It is also a very thick balm so you really need to squeeze at times. Now the pricing seems to be ranging, and since it is currently sold out at Anthroplogie online I cannot give a definitive price. It ranges from 12£ from off the actual site, to being 40$ off of Amazon. Other sites list it at being around 20$. But again worth whatever the price for sweet relief.

Now for the Face problems.

Everyone gets different problems, but I find the most common is breaking out.

To help me keep my face clean and tone down these breakouts so I can go makeup free again, I tried out Nip + Fab. Specifically I tried out the Blood Dragon Cleansing Wipes:

Nip + Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Cleansing Pads (Bought on Sale for 16$). On their site they offer it for £9.95.

Nip + Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Cleansing Pads (Bought on Sale for 16$). On their site they offer it for £9.95.

This product helps reduce the appearance of blemishes and also gives hydration for dry skin. Helps also to look refreshed and with the baby kicking when I got to sleep, not finding a comfortable side to sleep on, I need to look refreshed in the mornings. My skin is doing so much better with this. I got it to help me with my blemishes but also my skin was getting red and splotchy, so I wanted to fix that. My face typically only got slightly red near my cheeks because of my freckles but I started noticing redness spreading there, and on my chin. I knew I needed to find a solution. And it's hard enough that when your pregnant your skin is really sensitive so it could have had negative effects trying a new product. But I am so glad that after researching on baby sites that others have found this brand to be great during their pregnancy. Because, now I agree. I simply love how my skin feels again. The redness and blemishes are going away. And I am over the moon about not having to wear a lot of makeup again.

Another thing I picked up was a clay mask, for those spa nights I have missed. And I figured why not stay in brand for that. So to also help and keep my skin soft and moisturized, I would try out the Kale Fix Clay Mask:

Nip + Fab's Kale Fix Clay Mask ( Bought on Sale for 12$). On their site they offer it for £9.95

Nip + Fab's Kale Fix Clay Mask ( Bought on Sale for 12$). On their site they offer it for £9.95

This product also helps with removing blemishes but without drying out the skin. It keeps your skin hydrated and refreshed as well. Which god knows my skin could use on a regular basis. Before being pregnant, my skin was combination skin with dryness. So these two Nip + Fab products will stay in my regime after pregnancy now too. I honestly can't wait to try out the rest of the lines these come in. These have done wonders on my face and keeping my dryness down. Especially around my nose. For some reason my nose is the driest spot on my face.

For those of you in Canada, Nip + Fab can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart! So stop by and check out their selection. In other countries, I do believe they can be found at CVS, Ulta, Superdrug, and Target. They also have their own site which you can order from as well.

Now my last pregnancy product ( and before pregancy product fave) that I find myself using to help stay refreshed is from Lush Cosmetics. And it is the toner Breath of Fresh Air:

Lush Cosmetics' Breath Of Fresh Air toner water (10.95$ for 100ml bottle )

Lush Cosmetics' Breath Of Fresh Air toner water (10.95$ for 100ml bottle )

This toner was something I had before pregnancy, it was also a repurchase because of great it is. This is another great redness helper, and it also helps the complexion out. It has aloe vera gel as one of it's ingredients which is fantastic for your skin. I have had other toners from them, but I always go back to my fave here. I can't explain why, but every time I spritz it on my face I just feel more refreshed. And awake. And it has been working so well with my other products above. This one is a great go to. They do offer it in a bigger size, but I never need more then the 100ml.

So with all of these lovely products, my second trimester bad skin woos have been tackled and managed! And I couldn't be happier. I am so thankful to have found such great products to get me through this new experience and has really helped me branch to different brands ( minus my toner :P). I hope that if you guys are looking to find new products to try while pregnant or not, because these products can be used even when you aren't pregnant, that these help with your redness control and blemishes. Taking care of your skin is such a priority, everyday dirt gets in your pores and can affect your skin and health.

Take care of yourselves!

Let me know of any other products that you've heard are great during pregnancy!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Signing off,

Becca
