Now that's my kind of tan
Hey everyone! What a lovely week we have had here in Ottawa! So sunny and warm, summer has finally arrived. And it was amazing getting out and running errands this weekend. And because of all this sunny weather, it's got me in a tan kind of mood. Not that I tan, but my clothes sure can!
With this whole pregnancy I have found it very hard to keep my style from before, and until this outfit have been a little lost from myself. I finally have found myself again and it feels really good. I was either not fitting my pre-pregnancy pants, or being too small to fit into my maternity pants. So I was just feeling uncomfortable not being able to wear my clothes how I want to. I would either have to do the hairband trick with my old pants but then lose the ability to tuck my shirts in ( and then at some point i just couldn't do even that ) or wear the maternity pants that wouldn't fit quite well in the belly and still not be able to wear anything tucked in because of the band on the pants. It was beginning to get rough, I had picked up at 9/10 sized pair of jeans in hopes that would fit completely and not have to use hairband trick. But no such luck. So my next attempt, which clearly worked, was go up a size category (11/12) and find myself a pair with elastic in its band. And VOILA! A nice pair of classic coloured jeans that fits my growing belly. And I am over the moon happy about this.
One thing I am very big on is finding great finds at the thrift store, and jeans is one of the spots I hit up most. I tend to stick around jeans, skirts, and purses. They receive such great items from people in the area, and instead of letting them go to waste they let others have a chance at continuing the life of each item.
Now this look can be changed up, added on, whatever you like. I would also pair this with a nice silk kimono, probably a nice white or a navy blue. Or you can even pair it with a nice blazer and wear this to work on a friday. You can have hair up/down. My go-to styles are a top bun, space buns, or just a plain old ponytail. It is quite rare for me to have my whole hair down, as there is so much of it and it was extremely humid out.
So here's a great challenge for you guys!, Go to your local thrift stores ( any one of them or even all of them ) and take a look around. Look close because you never know what kind of gems you will find to add to your wardrobe, and your home.
Have a great day!
